Job Purpose:
The post holder will lead and be responsible for the delivery of a high-quality curriculum for all relevant areas, in particular, Electrical and Mechanical. Ultimately, ensuring that the current and prospective learners, employer partners and other stakeholders always receive a high-quality experience.
The post holder will lead the team to drive up quality of delivery through support, monitoring, and intervention.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:
* Lead a positive, proactive, and learner-centred culture across all areas of the curriculum.
* Lead on drafting the Quality Improvement Plan and Self-assessment Report and ensure that progress is monitored against plan.
* Create the relevant curriculum for Electrical and MES, ensuring the staffing resources are allocated and effectively planned and the educational delivery is of high quality and delivered consistently across the Centres and by subcontractors.
* Ensure that the curriculum content and design reflect sector skills requirements and employer and learner needs and meet the IfATE standards.
* To lead the development of existing products and any changes to new products. Line managing the Curriculum Managers in their work of managing the product life cycle. Ensuring curriculum and product development is to the set standard, meets customers' expectations, and is innovative in its delivery (as appropriate).
* Lead and implement the effective planning and timetabling of curriculum to promote a positive learner experience at every stage of the learner team, working in close collaboration with the regional Heads of Delivery and their team leaders.
* Work with the Head of Compliance to establish the assurance processes that the Head of Compliance and Assurance can use to monitor and audit.
* Work across the organisation to ensure that the core systems used are effective with procedures and training deployed that enable delivery of the teaching and assessment policies and procedures.
* Lead a culture of high quality, ensuring that all processes and procedures for delivery support high quality delivery including creation of key performance indicators relating to learner attendance, progress, and achievement.
* Working with colleagues from across the company, improving standards, sharing best practice, and promoting innovation in curriculum planning, design, and delivery.
* Lead the relationship with the awarding organisations and EPA providers and work with the Head of Quality Assurance & Compliance in setting up processes and policies to ensure compliance.
* To support the Head of Assurance and Compliance in the appeals and dispute process by providing evidence as required.
* To work with the digital technology team on the content of the curricula and policies where appropriate.
* To lead the development of teaching and learning resources, as part of an integrated programme of quality improvement for teaching and assessment. To act as the main contact for external resource partners e.g., publishers, learner, and employer support materials etc.
* To lead on producing safeguarding and additional learning policies and procedures ensuring compliance with legislation where relevant and monitoring activity including intervention as and when required.
* Ensure that the regional teams are updated and trained on the safeguarding, health and safety, and ALN policies and procedures.
* Lead the team, through motivation, support, and performance management as appropriate.
* A member of a Senior Leadership Team.
* To manage budgets as delegated by the Deputy Director.
* Contribute to the Business Plan and Strategy promoting excellence in curriculum resourcing, development, and delivery.
Person Specification
Essential Requirements:
* Degree level teaching &/or assessment qualification at level 4 or relevant equivalent experience
* GCSE English A-C, 9-4, NVQ level 2, O'Level A-D or equivalent
* Demonstrable experience of curriculum design, product development, assessment practice
* Demonstrable teaching or assessment experience
* Demonstrable experience of improving standards of teaching and assessment
* Line Management experience
* Driving Licence
Desirable:
* Advanced qualifications at level 4 in Electrical and/or Mechanical services
