We are looking for an experienced Neighbourhood Housing Officer, to join our skilled and friendly team.
You will be proactive and professional and be adept at tailoring your approach and service according to individual situations and circumstances. You will work closely with tenants to ensure they can sustain their tenancies and maintain their homes to a good standard to fulfil our homeowner statutory obligations for compliance, and to meet Decent Homes Standards. You will use relevant tools, interventions and tenancy enforcement action, where necessary, to manage tenancy breaches, or anti-social behaviour. You will work with tenants to develop cohesive communities and areas where people want to and are proud to live.
You will work in partnership with other agencies and third parties to support tenants who may have complex needs or a number of vulnerabilities. You should be experienced in recognising and taking action in relation to any Domestic Abuse or Safeguarding concerns. You should have experience of and be confident to have challenging or difficult conversations in order to achieve the best possible solutions and outcomes.
You will be responsible for providing a full housing management service for a patch of 580 properties, across the Sevenoaks District.
This position requires an enhanced DBS check, a full valid driving licence with access to a private vehicle with business and commuting insurance.
Your new role
*Manage tenancies across all tenures to provide excellent tailored services that sustain tenancies and make best use of our homes
*Help customers to understand their responsibilities as tenants and how to sustain their tenancy.
*Build safe communities with proactive and consistent service delivery to reduce and respond to reports of anti-social behaviour, hate crime, domestic abuse, safeguarding and other tenancy breaches.
*Undertake appropriate activities to prepare cases for legal action and deliver successful outcomes on legal cases for the organisation.
*Manage environments where we have homes and identify new opportunities to improve estate and scheme conditions to create places where people want to live.
*Provide technical and professional housing/tenancy management advice.
What you\'ll need to succeed
* Awareness of current issues, legislation and best practice in relation to the housing and estate management.
* Proven track record of being solution focused and confident in Microsoft packages and learning bespoke customer record management systems. Determined and persistent to achieve positive outcomes in difficult circumstances.
* Proven communication, interpersonal and written skills adaptable to all audiences.
* Experience of delivering a positive customer-focused service.
* Full driving licence and access to a roadworthy vehicle with business insurance
* Ability to work flexibly by working in the community, office and homework.
