Our client a leading independent freight forwarding company based in Basildon has an exciting opportunity for a European Road Freight Import Clerk to join their team on a permanent basis, this offers someone the opportunity to assist the manager in the smooth running of the department.

Duties include:

* Entering jobs and manifests onto the FMS system.
* Supplying the warehouse and all other depots with information required to enable the prompt and efficient off-loading of trailers.
* Liaising with agents and customers alike to ascertain their needs and requirements to ensure all deliveries are completed in a timely fashion.
* Daily collating of necessary and required information from Hauliers of arrival/departure times.
* Daily calculation of prices and costs for certain manifests.
* Daily updating of spreadsheets with relevant information
* Assist the department manager with the consolidation and presentation of data for monthly KPI reporting.

Requirements:

* Previous experience working in a similar import role.
* Experience working within road freight.
* Knowledge /experience of EDI's would be an advantage.

Salary for this position is up to £28,500 per annum depending on experience.

This is an office-based role in Basildon, working Monday to Friday 9am to 5.30pm.
