Assistant VAT Manager – Public Sector

My client is seeking a dynamic and driven Assistant VAT Manager to join their growing Public Sector team in Edenbridge. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-developing team and shape business growth by identifying new avenues and nurturing existing client relationships. As part of this role, you will support and lead initiatives within the business, helping to implement a strategic business plan while delivering top-tier VAT compliance and advisory services to a wide range of Public Sector clients.

Your Role:

- Manage a portfolio of Public Sector clients, ensuring VAT compliance and providing expert advisory services.

- Support senior management with the delivery of client work, engaging in special assignments and advisory projects.

- Lead day-to-day delivery of audit and compliance services, while managing client accounts and relationships.

- Provide exceptional service, maintaining regular contact with client teams and acting as their trusted advisor.

- Mentor junior staff, offering on-the-job training and supporting their development.

- Assist with business development activities, including marketing, webinars, and cross-referrals within the firm.

- Monitor staff performance, ensure procedural compliance, and manage department billing and targets.

Key Skills and Experience:

- Proven VAT experience within the industry or profession.

- Technical proficiency in VAT matters, capable of handling complex client work.

- Exceptional communication and organisational skills.

- Experience managing a small client portfolio and supervising staff.

- Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

- Ability to motivate teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

- Demonstrated project management experience and leadership in mentoring and supervising others.
