A great opportunity for a Buyer with a global manufacturing client in the area.

The role has become available due to the retirement of a long service member of the Purchasing Team and is considered ideal for someone hungry to progress to that next level in their career within an organisation that offers all the support you need in order to do so.

Highlights:
Working as a procurement team member, you will source, negotiate and contract for specified spend categories on behalf of user departments and develop effective business partnerships with suppliers and internal customers.

General Skills and Attributes:

Proven ability to deliver YOY cost reductions
A skilled negotiator covering cost, relationship and contracts
Ability to influence at all levels within an organisation
Exposure to commodity management and project sourcing considered an advantage
Good project management skills, able to work on multiple complex projects
Focus on continuous improvement and be digitally savvy
Empathetic with a customer service orientation
The role will require the ability to travel (ie. 10 – 15%)

Experience, Skills & Attributes:
Ideally CIPS qualification desirable or other Professional Qualification
Procurement experience with a track record of delivering cost improvement
Strong understanding of end to end Supply Chain and SRM process
A good technical understanding of procurement ideally within Pharma, Food Supplements and/or Cosmetics industries, or a closely associated sector
Ideally a proficient user of SAP or similar ERP system, plus digitally savvy
Ideally previous experience working within a multi-national business and cross functional teamwork
A strong team player with analytical and problem solving skills
Good project management skills, able to work on multiple complex projects
Proven ability to delivery YOY cost improvements
A skilled negotiator covering cost, relationship and contracts
Exposure to commodity management and project sourcing
Time management, work to deadlines & ability to influence
Focus on continuous improvement
Must have a “can do” attitude and a desire to continually improve

Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Supplier RFQ (request for quotation) for projects – Materials and capital expenditure (NPD and Rapid Commercialisation)
Contribute to project meetings representing procurement department. Updates on price, lead time and associated costs for launch
Anticipate and communicate any potential risks to deliveries
COG (cost of goods) confirmation with prices at a range of MOQ’s (minimum order quantity) & EOQ’s (economic order quantity)
Support and manage the commercial relationship between the Project Management Office team and external suppliers on specific projects so customer needs are met, whilst maintaining effective business relationships with suppliers & customers.
Supply Gap Analysis:
CDA GAP analysis and implementation
Supplier agreement/Contract analysis and execution
COPQ (cost of poor quality) compliance management
Participate in supplier performance management reviews
Supplier Price Management - negotiating prices and terms, SAP maintenance
Manage Supplier relationships and KPI’s for portfolio charge
Assist with annual budget cost setting
Cover for Procurement Manager as required (in times of absence)
Participate and take ownership of G2G program (cost down program)
Procurement Management System (SAP):
Supplier Price Maintenance – update changes in lie with department response time
Changes to supplier agreement on MOQ or lead times
Setting up new component codes
Checking invoices match agreed pricing/terms and resolution

37 hours per week: Monday to Thursday 9am -5pm, Friday 9am – 4.30pm with 45 minutes lunch break
