We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as our Data and GDPR Officer (1LOD) for CAF Bank Ltd (part of the Charities Aid Foundation). You will be an integral part of our award-winning team, in Kings Hill.
What you’ll do

The Data and GDPR Officer (1LOD) will be responsible for ensuring that CAF Bank continues to meet its GDPR requirements both in business-as-usual activities and in future strategic implementations and process changes. They will also play a key role in fostering a data protection culture within the organisation and ensuring that CAF Bank complies with all regulatory changes, working closely with 2LOD to achieve this.
This is a specialist technical role, the ideal candidate must have in-depth knowledge of current data protection legislation and should be able to provide guidance and support the business and risk function fulfil their responsibilities.
The Data and GDPR Officer (1LOD) will also be responsible for the reporting of any data breaches and incidents. Responsible for forging business policies and standard operating procedures in a way that is effective and efficient.

As our Data and GDPR Officer you will:
- Be responsible for ensuring CAF Bank continues to meet its GDPR requirements in business-as-usual activities.
- Be responsible for ensuring CAF Bank meets is GDPR requirements in relation to Bank Transformation project, working closely with both the Business and Project Team to achieve the correct outcome.
- Have a key role in fostering a data protection culture within the organisation. Helping implement essential elements of the GDPR such as the principles of data processing, data subject rights, data protection by design and default, records of processing activities, security of processing.
- Be responsible for recognising, investigating, communicating and notifying data breaches.
Who you’ll be
This role is for you if you have experience of working in data protection law and practices or have relevant transferable skills and are keen to make a difference to society. Skills required for the role include:
• Must hold and maintain professional qualities and expert knowledge of data protection law and practices to fulfil the tasks required of the role.
• Experience gained in a financial service regulated organisation.
• Extensive experience of data protection within a financial environment.
• Ability to demonstrate effective stakeholder management.
• A track record of implementing best practice data processes and making substantive improvements of benefit to client experience and compliance to data regulation and legislation.
