Our specialist maintenance team are currently seeking a handy/multi-skilled trades person for a project around the Kent area. We work closely with clients who operate across the maintenance industry with contracts in building maintenance from public to private sectors.
We are looking for multiple multi-traders or handy people for roles we have in the Kent area. These could be mobile roles. A full UK driving licence is required. The role could include reactive or planned maintenance work.
Duties
Carrying out repairs across the site
Making sure all equipment is maintained and checked regularly
Carrying out duties in a good timescale
Supporting site management
Making sure all health and safety is followed

The role will also encompass small works and emergency procedures as required and inclusion in the out of hours call out rota, and you will report directly to the Hard Services Manager.

Your responsibilities

* A self-motivated 'can do' attitude is required to work within the current mobile team.
* Maintenance and repairs to fire doors, door frames and any associated fittings & fixtures.
* Attendance to internal areas including walls, partitions, ceilings, skirtings etc in buildings across the contracts
* Painting & Decorating skills are vital to this role with attention to detail and a high level of skill required.
* Minor carpentry repairs to doors, door frames, windows and all other aspects of timber construction and fixing of shelves and pictures and noticeboards.
* Replacement and installation of all locks
* General labouring duties including furniture churning, gutter clearance as required.
* Semi-skilled tasks as directed by Hard Services Manager or Supervisor (Helpdesk issued).
* To ensure ALL maintenance & inspection records are completed and submitted on a timely basis.
* Assistance with other PPM and extra work requirements in adherence to set engineering standards
* Working with other professionals within and outside fabric specialism.
* Professional Appearance to be maintained at all times
* City & Guilds or equivalent qualifications and or experience in commercial building maintenance would be an advantage.
* Requirement to participate in overtime on an ad-hoc basis.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience & Qualifications - not essential

* Manual Handling
* Willing to develop and learn.
* The ability to provide efficient management and organisation of workload to ensure effective completion is achieved on time.
* Ability to work un-supervised and be proactive whilst working across the estate's buildings in reporting health and safety issues to the SHEQ team
* Good communication skills and an ability to create trust.
