Sevenoaks Day Nursery

An opportunity has arisen for a Nursery Manager to join and lead our community nursery.

We are recruiting someone to manage the day to day running of Sevenoaks Day Nursery, responsible to the Board of Trustees, supported by a team of nursery staff as well as a Finance and HR Manager, who will ensure the long-term objectives of the charity are met.

At Sevenoaks Day Nursery, we believe that all children should have the space and opportunity to flourish and learn. We aim to provide a kind and safe environment in which parents may leave their children, knowing that they will be given opportunities to thrive and develop as part of a caring setting.

We pride ourselves on being a value driven nursery that is set aside from many others by the level of support we provide within our local community. Examples of the support provided by the nursery include:

• Free childcare to support families in difficulty due to, for example, serious illness
• Emergency support for families experiencing issues around domestic violence
• Take active part in our community groups, MadHatters drop-in, at Hope church and a monthly sling library at the Nursery.
Benefits of joining our nursery team include:
• The ability to influence and establish in house policy and procedure
• Full support from the Board of Trustees.
• The chance to lead a loyal and enthusiastic team
• On-going training and professional development
• The opportunity to grow the nursery to full potential within the setting.

This position will be based in our nursery building near the Bat & Ball Centre, with 4 rooms and up to 57 places ranging from 8 weeks to school age. We have a baby room, two toddler rooms, and a pre-school room.

The ideal candidate will be confident and experienced in various areas of childcare and development, operations and administration, leading a team, promoting strong professional relationships and passionate about our Nursery values and charitable objectives. Our requirements include:
• L3 or above in a recognised UK Childcare qualification
• Ability to work as an ambassador for the nursery within the community
• Management experience, ideally within a similar setting
• The ability to empower a team to adopt new ideas and best practice
• Extensive knowledge of the EYFS
• Great communication skills and passion for working with young children
• Proven track record of being part of a team that has achieved a minimum of 'GOOD' in an OFSTED inspection

The safety and security of all the children in our care is paramount to us and we have a wide range of safeguards in place to help us build a complete picture of any candidate’s suitability to work with children.

We are looking for a someone who is passionate about bringing our charity values to life and maximising the opportunity to put their own stamp on this role to be a leader in an outstanding childcare setting.

If you would like to apply, please send your cv and a covering letter, via the apply button, explaining why you are interested in the role. Application deadline is 28th February, 2025.
