Devops Engineer
A FTSE250 tech firm based in London City are looking for a DevOps Engineer to join there ever growing team on a contract basis.

Essential Skills:
-Good interpersonal skills and willingness to work across teams
-Strong cloud first background
-Strong experience in Azure
-Experience with Linux, package management, config changes and basic tasks
-Experience with container orchestration, e.g. Kubernetes
-Proficiency with scripting languages, Powershell preferred
-Exposure to automation tools, preferably Terraform, VSTS and TeamCity/Octopus
-Ability to work quickly and effectively whilst maintaining quality
-Desire to evaluate and learn new technologies to tackle real user problems effectively
-Experience with Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) in an Azure world
-Experience with Splunk and ITSI at scale a bonus
-Microsoft certified towards MCSA/MCSE Cloud Platform track desirable.

Role & Responsibilities:
-Work on everything from transitioning the on-prem teams into the cloud, helping us move to an orchestrated container-based service architecture (Kubernetes and Docker).
-Working directly with the developers to implement projects and BAU activities on behalf of the platform engineering team to achieve your goals while following best practices and recommending solutions and technologies.
-Create Splunk dashboards and ITSI glass tables to communicate the value of metrics and KPIs to both the dev teams and to stakeholders
-Add, Improve and maintain modules in our central Powershell Module library
-Consolidate existing Azure resources where possible and migrate on-prem services to PaaS services with assistance from the platform engineering team and developers
-Manage and monitor systems to ensure that issues are quickly identified and resolved
-Collaborate with the platform engineering team to plan and execute system changes e.g security and audit controls
-Automate manual activities
