Junior Software Developer

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Junior Software Developer to join a well-established Software House, based in the heart of Maidstone. You are not expected to have any prior experience as they will provide all the training necessary for you to quickly become an important part of the software development team and to start contributing to their product suite.
As a junior software developer you will be working on some of the most respected financial reporting and auditing systems in the world, working on live deployed systems.
You will be creating new content, new processes and designs whilst also bug-fixing and maintaining current releases. They reward creativity and you will be encouraged to challenge how they do things and to carry out research ideas as part of your work.

Responsibilities of Junior Software Developer
· Development and maintenance of the desktop financial reporting, taxation and auditing templates
· Continually developing your skills
· Learn how to use scripting as a solution and as part of your developer's toolkit
· Prepare bug fixes as directed by the development work schedule
· Prepare documentation on the above as required
· Work in accordance with daily and weekly development schedules
· Attend project and development meetings as necessary
· Provide feedback to product and project managers on job progress
· Investigate new technologies which might enhance the current product range
· Remedial work on older legacy templates

The qualities that we are looking for in a Junior Software Developer is that you must demonstrate an interest in software development and be a logical thinker and problem solver who doesn't stop at finding "a" solution when they're sure a better alternative must exist.
You will be educated to degree level OR have a demonstrable aptitude for software development.
In addition to graduates they have employed some very talented self-taught developers so please get in touch if you have the desire, aptitude and commitment to succeed as a software developer.

You might be looking for your first role in a software development team or you might have some initial experience in a collaborative development department. Either way we are looking for aptitude rather than experience, we want someone with the potential to become a confident developer so we'll be interested in any projects you may have worked on either in a personal capacity or as part of your further or higher education.
