Medical Summariser and Coder
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Medical Note Summariser / Clinical Coder to join a busy GP Practice in Ashford, Kent. Unfortunately, we cannot accept applications for anyone without the required experience due to the nature of the role.
Hours: We are open to applicants seeking full-time or part-time hours
Salary: £8.50 – 9.50 per hour
Duration: The job will begin on a temporary basis with the intention to take the candidate permanent if they are successful in the role.
All About the ROLE
You will summarise and ‘read code’ relevant information from patient’s clinical records into the data system. To ensure an accurate, easily accessible electronic summary of a patient's medical history is available to clinicians.
Assess and sort patient records and letters in preparation for summarising
Review medical records and produce accurate summary of the patient’s medical history. To identify and code diagnoses, medical problems and test results in line with protocol
Accurately Read Code and document information into the data system. required to review and code the medical records of newly registered patients and code information received on letters from hospitals.
Audit data collection standards to ensure quality and accurate records. To monitor the progress of notes summarised. File and retrieve paperwork, covering all coding and summarising queries as necessary
Adhere to all confidentiality of patient data in line with compliance, processes and procedure
All About YOU!
You will have at least 6 months proven experience in a similar role with previous experience of summarising patient notes. To have a good understanding of medical terminology. To be methodical, accurate with excellent attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workload. Proficient user of Microsoft Office packages and have current DBS
