HMP East Sutton Park, Sutton Valence, Kent, Long-term Temporary contract.
Based on 2 days per week 16 hours.
£11.43 - 13.24 per hour dependant on pay type. Increasing after 12 weeks.


Overview of the position

As the leading supplier to the HM Prison Service for the provision of maintenance trades & support operatives, Hays is seeking to recruit an experienced painter for East Sutton Park Prison in the outskirts of Maidstone, Kent. This is a Long-term Temporary Contract based on an 16 hours per week.

The Painter role is in a unique working environment with a strong sense of team working.


Purpose of the Painter role

As part of the Works/ Maintenance Department you will be responsible for the painting maintenance requirements throughout the prison.
Kent Prisons have an excellent reputation as busy local prisons, which serve all the courts in the South East.

Painter Duties
* Internal & external painting
* General maintenance & making good
* Reactive & emergency repairs
* Planned Painting Projects throughout
* Radio handling


Experience

Formal painting qualifications are ideally required for this role, City & Guilds/ NVQ and CSCS. Evidence of significant and recent painting experience is essential.
The nature of the role requires candidates to be security conscious and able to challenge potential compromises and risks, you will also need to be reliable and consistent, level headed and have exceptional interpersonal skills. Successful applicants will be assessed based on the following competencies:Acting with integrity, respecting others, Building relationships and team working, communicating effectively, developing self and others.


Security Clearance required:
All applicants will be subject to the HM Prison Service Security Clearance procedure which can take up to 3 weeks, this will also include a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
You must hold a Valid Passport or Birth Certificate & Photo Driving Licence in your current address.
All applicants must be able to provide details of 2 satisfactory references, at least one from an ex-employer.
