Position; Senior Account Manager
Location; Tunbridge Wells
Salary; £30,000 - £34,000 DOE
Hours; 9-5.30pm Mon to Fri (flexible working - for example you could work 8 to 4.30 or 10 to 6.30)
Main Purpose;
You are ultimately responsible for driving an account by completing the execution of the strategies and activities, with support from the account directors. You will ensure that programmes and objectives are being adhered to, and that your accounts are well organised. You will oversee accounts, taking responsibility for managing, planning, execution, and results with the team. The role will involve developing strategies and activities for clients alongside senior directors, while overseeing the execution and quality control of all aspects of the clients' programmes and relationships with the agency.
Client new business strategy and delivery;
1 Accountable for the development of quarterly and forward-looking activity plans for clients.
2 Accountable for the writing of all day-to-day written material for clients including press releases, features, statements, Q&As, speeches, presentations, award entries etc.
3 Amending and improving press releases, internal copy for newsletters etc. drafted by account managers and account executives, and having final approval prior to sending to client
4 Managing monthly evaluation reports for existing clients
5 Raising the standard of account management to ensure that all communication with clients and outgoing communication is of the highest quality
6 Taking the lead role in meetings with existing clients, ensuring all preparation is well organised and senior directors are fully briefed on meeting contents
7 Assuming a central role in the team and taking full responsibility for your clients and any problems
8 Understanding all budgeting procedures and having complete financial control of client programmes
9 Utilising relevant business contacts to 'add value' to client programmes
10 Writing first stage creative new business proposals with direction from senior directors
11 Leading new business brainstorms providing creative input into all new business pitches within account group
Media Planning and Execution
1 A full understanding of how the media works in the particular areas in which you operate, the opportunities available, and building relationships with journalists etc.
2 Planning and driving the media relations programme for all clients as laid out in the agreed programme of activity, reporting to your senior director as required
3 Identifying and pursuing publicity opportunities to ensure the maximum level of coverage is achieved for your client, project etc.
4 Overseeing the management and organisation of events ranging from workshops, photo calls, press conferences, and training days etc. on behalf of clients
5 Commissioning and analysing research including surveys and focus groups where required, and leading the media roll-out to achieve maximum coverage
6 Leading the advising of media handling including interview briefings, developing Q&As, exclusives, embargoes and damage limitations
7 Alerting clients to PR risks or opportunities presented by broader areas of corporate responsibility
8 Liaising with senior directors on strategic issues and media handling issues, including crisis management and advising client as appropriate
Leadership
1 Motivating and supervising your team, including handling internal issues and problems before escalating to senior directors
2 Implementing and supervising progress of PR campaigns, including delivery against KPIs
3 Recruiting the top talent and helping to ensure an effective and organised on-boarding process
