Claims Handler

Barker Munro recruitment, the Kent based Insurance recruitment specialists are currently working with this well-established insurance business with offices in Kent, who are keen to bolster their Claims team with the addition of a Claims Handler.

As a Claims Handler, you will be working across a variety of teams to begin with managing claims from first advice through to settlement whilst also being involved in investigation of potentially fraudulent claims and providing advice on claims and the claims process. The claims will be based around specialist commercial lines business. We are looking for you to be able to get up to speed quite quickly and in due course take on a full case load of claims files with varying settlement authority limits.

To be considered for the role of Claims Handler, you will have knowledge and working experience and background in some kind of commercial claims such as Marine, Cargo, Freight or Liability would be highly preferably, however, there is consideration given to candidates from other claims backgrounds as well. There is also consideration given to graduates with a legal degree who would like to pursue a career in insurance.

As a Claims handler, if you have made some kind of progress with your CII studies, this would be highly advantageous

The role will be mainly office based, so the ability to commute to the office is required. However, there is a Working from home policy that would enable some home working.
