IT & NETWORKING ENGINEER

Modus Vivendi is a privately owned premier Audio Visual Systems Integration company. We are a lively and dynamic company, and proud of what we do. Our projects range from single room home cinema systems to fully integrated multi-million pound properties and beyond.

We are currently looking to expand our team and recruit an energetic, enthusiastic and experienced IT & Networking Engineer who is now looking for a long term career as opposed to ‘just a job’.

Based from our office in Maidstone, working on projects predominantly located in Kent, but occasionally in London and the Home Counties.

The main purpose of the role is to maintain high levels of Customer Service through on-site attendance and remote technical support. You shall develop and sustain excellent customer relations whilst providing first class technical support for planned and reactive resolutions. You will be responsible for ensuring fault resolution is to Client satisfaction; ensuring the commercial impact of the account is upheld.

Job Role

- Travelling to client sites, carrying out on-site service engineering works as required, including fault finding and troubleshooting in both residential and commercial environments
- Installation and commissioning of networking, CCTV & Audio Visual equipment
- Testing and terminating copper and fibre cabling
- Installation of comms cabinets, racks and patch panels
- Carrying out fault finding and troubleshooting on and off-site
- Carrying out preventative maintenance calls, as required
- Carrying out small works installations including configuration and commissioning of new equipment, and client project hand overs
- Carrying out site surveys for additional works
- Interpretation of schematics and construction drawings
- Attending on-site co-ordination meetings when required
- Maintaining accurate up-to-date installation records, including administration as required to support the role
- Reporting to the Project Manager and representing them in their absence
- Liaising with other internal departments, clients and contractors
- Commitment to safe working practices and maintaining Health and Safety requirements

Knowledge and Experience

- Minimum 3 years’ experience within IT/AV/Home Automation Industry
- Competent knowledge of related equipment and systems, including; Draytek routers & modems, Cisco 200 & 300 series switches, Ubiquiti Unifi wired & wireless solutions and Ruckus wireless equipment
- Experience of; Layer 3 managed networks, V-LANS’s including tagging ports, LAN setup including Guest LAN’s, DHCP Ip ranges and setting static IP addresses, VPN for use with both remote connection and site to site, WAN configuration for ADSL/VDSL and fibre lease lines
- Experience of terminating CAT6 / CAT6A / CAT7 (preferred) / Multi-mode fibre cabling (preffered)
- Excellent organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure is essential
- Competent IT literacy
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently
- Ability to think laterally, finding an appropriate solution to fulfil an application
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Professional and approachable attitude to clients, contractors and other members of the team
- Ability to work to the highest quality standards with attention to detail
- High personal standards of presentation
- Excellent time keeping
- Full UK Driving Licence
- CSCS (preferred)

Salary £27,000.00 to £35,000.00 (dependent on experience) + Package, including performance related bonus. Additional training provided
