My Client, a worldwide, customer focussed Manufacturer of every day products, is now looking to recruit an Infrastructure / Data Engineer to provide technical expertise and support in the implementation and optimization of the SMOM (Smart Manufacturing Operation Management) systems platform and associated processes.

The Role: Infrastructure / Data Engineer

To provide technical and operational expertise to achieve quick and timely solutions to SMOM related problems within all site asset team areas.

Provide day to day support for SMOM requests and

Ensure the success of SMOM by providing technical expertise and effective facilitation of the process.

Develop and maintain data flows into SMOM for generating information from SMOM to drive improved visibility and faster decision making for asset teams, engineers and site leadership.

Provide support for developing and implementing plans and programs for sustaining the long-term growth of SMOM to meet facility objectives.

Gain and sustain SMOM knowledge

Contribute as a technical team member to various situations, projects

Build organisational capability in digital manufacturing through key user training and support

Ownership of best practices for Industrial Control Systems, OPC Interfaces, Modbus, RS Linx, etc.

Work within a manufacturing environment with an understanding of KPI's, Operation Efficiency (OEE)

Coordination of specific projects relating to MES & integration to existing & new systems

Working knowledge of infrastructure hardware components, Servers, Networking, Firewalls. Experience of scanner / hand-held & labelling technologies



Skills / Experience / Qualifications: Infrastructure / Data Engineer

A formal Electrical Engineering qualification or Computing qualification to ONC/HNC (or equivalent)

Experienced in applied process control and manufacturing systems

Demonstrated experience in leading assigned project/programs.

Must have detailed knowledge and understanding of:

Process Controls (PLC/SCADA/HMI) and IIoT

Digital Manufacturing (Industry 4.0)

Manufacturing Execution Systems

ISA-95 Model

GE Plant Applications

OSI PI Historian

Systems structures and design

Microsoft productivity solutions, especially Excel

Electrical and systems safety
