Mechanical Engineer



Atlas Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer on behalf of our industry leading client

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be helping to define and design new products and also, redesigning obsolete equipment in line with current regulatory requirements. You will have opportunity to overview whole engineering lifecycle requiring effective collaboration within multi discipline teams.

You will also have responsibility for specific activities including: The new design, development, test, customer acceptance and in-service use of major items of component processing and support equipment required to replace obsolete hardware and systems, support to legacy systems is also required, and ensuring compliance with current regulatory standards and requirements.



Your main responsibilities as a Mechanical Engineer will involve:

* Producing technical documentation in line with company guidelines and prepare and deliver Mechanical design presentations
* Taking part in supplier/stakeholder meetings and in addition to design reviews, have an understanding of the broader LCM process
* Assisting Engineering Governance and Requirements Capture activities
* Developing a broader knowledge of P&TS products and systems outside of the mechanical domain
* Engaging with different engineering disciplines and competencies
* Designing and conducting mechanical testing methods
* Establishing and building positive working relationships within the business, supply chain and stakeholders to improve understanding of the business
* Undertaking continuous personal development as required to increase responsibility, build skills, knowledge and competence in a range of business situations
* Supporting the development of other early careers engineers within the discipline





Skills and qualifications of the Mechanical Engineer:



Essential:

* Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or equivalent experience
* Understanding of mathematical and physical values
* A good understanding of the theory and concepts of Mechanical Engineering gained through education and work experience is required
* Applies Mechanical Engineering principles for providing design solutions
* Understanding of the lifecycle guidance process
* Knowledge of Design and conduct of mechanical testing methods



Desirable:

* Defence background would be advantageous
* Exposure within a large, multi-layered manufacturing environment
* Working towards CEng status. BEng is preferred



What we are looking for in a Mechanical Engineer:

You will be concise, logical and accurate in communication while sharing or discussing technical information/matters. You will therefore be confident with sharing and developing information.
