Business Development Manager

Up to £50,000 DOE + performance related bonus + car

East Kent based office - covering national area

Hours: 8am - 5pm, with 1 hour for lunch (flexibility required to suit business needs)



A great opportunity has arisen for a self-motivated Business Development Manager to join an established and growing Engineering business with a solid presence in the market, looking to expand their client base throughout the UK.



This role is to cover two sister companies within the gas industry and will be covering a varied client base - healthcare and medical, as well as commercial/industrial, so the scope for growth here is huge!



You will be developing existing relationships with a view to increasing sales revenue, as well as strategically identifying new opportunities and following leads right through to conversion and subsequent account management.



We are looking for a technically minded individual, with a background in Engineering and knowledge of gases (medical gases being a distinct advantage). You might be a technical sales person already with a proven track record in winning new and managing existing business, or working as a Gas Engineer but looking for an exciting new opportunity to make use of your good people skills and drive!



Salary will be reflective of background and full product training will be given!





Duties include:



* Working with the business owner to strategically identify areas to target
* Cold calling prospective clients and winning new business
* Maintaining and developing relationships with current clients with a view to growth
* Conducting surveys on site
* Generating and converting leads
* Building the business' portfolio
* Travel around the UK will be required at times (company car provided!)



The successful candidate will have / be:



* Technically minded with an Engineering background and experience providing or selling pipe or gas related products/services
* Enthusiastic and driven
* Not afraid to go out and win business
* A confident, proactive, tenacious and resilient personality
* Excellent written and verbal communication
* Strong relationship building skills
* Previous sales experience is desirable, but not essential
* Able to work from an East Kent based office when not out in the field





My client will be providing a competitive salary with a performance related bonus, a luxury company electric car which can be used for personal use, a generous paid holiday allowance of 23 days holiday + bank holidays.
