Senior Combat Systems Engineer
Senior Combat Systems Engineer. £45,000. Portsmouth. Hybrid and Flexible working. My client, a global defence company based in Portsmouth, are looking for a Senior Combat Systems Engineer with experience of design, installation, maintenance or operation of Weapon, Sensor or Communications systems, to join an exciting and expanding team. As a Senior Combat Systems Engineer with experience of design, installation, maintenance or operation of Weapon, Sensor or Communications systems, you will be working as part of a team of highly experienced, passionate and innovative engineers developing embodiment solutions for improvements to state-of-the-art defence vessels. This is an exciting senior level position that will provide you with a challenging role whilst allowing you to develop your skills, learning from the experienced engineers around you.
As a Senior Combat Systems Engineer, you will:
* Design and develop embodiment solutions
* Generate statements of work
* Respond to design queries
* Support installation teams from a technical viewpoint
* Liaise with customers both internally and externally
* Present design reviews
This role would suit someone who is passionate about Engineering particularly with an electrical bias. Someone who likes to implement new designs and think of development as a real vocation! A qualification in an Electrical/Engineering discipline would be preferred, however they will consider candidates with the relevant experience in design, installation, maintenance or operation of Weapon, Sensor or Communications systems and a demonstrable level of passion for the work.
Your skills and qualifications
Required:
* Experience of Design installation, maintenance or operation of Weapon, Sensor or Communication Systems
* Experience of managing subcontractors/teams
* Qualification in relevant electrical/engineering discipline or equivalent working experience
* Ability to work under pressure to tight timescales
* Good communication skills both written and verbally
As a Senior Combat Systems Engineer with the relevant experience in design, installation, maintenance or operation of Weapon, Sensor or Communications systems, you will earn a starting salary of £45,000 - £50,000 and will be entitled to a range of excellent benefits, as well as huge career growth and training opportunities. This role would be classified as a hybrid working position.
