Job Description
As a Housing Officer, you will play a crucial role in assisting individuals and families in finding suitable housing options. Your responsibilities will include:

* Conducting assessments and interviews to understand the housing needs of prospective tenants
* Researching available housing options and matching them with the needs and preferences of the applicants
* Facilitating the application process, including collecting necessary documents and conducting background checks
* Liaising with landlords and property owners to negotiate rental agreements and lease terms
* Conducting property inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
* Providing support and advice to tenants on tenancy issues, including rent payments, maintenance, and neighbour disputes
* Collaborating with other organisations and agencies to address housing-related challenges within the community
* Maintaining accurate records and documenting all interactions with tenants and landlords

Requirements

* Experience in the housing industry or a related field is preferred
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines
* Knowledge of housing regulations and tenancy laws
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software
