Your new company
A long-established Kent based main contractor now seek an experienced Quantity surveyor to join the existing team. Working across the Kent area on a mix of education and residential schemes they have an excellent relationship with several local authorities and architects practises resulting in a constant stream of work and a healthy order book for the next year. Upcoming schemes include 2 separate 1.5 Mill School refurbishment projects in North Kent as well as several care home refurbishments. They are an extremely stable a respected contractor comfortable working on between 3 - 5 projects. Due to a recent retirement they now seek a commercial lead to take on both e surveying and pricing/estimating function for the business. On offer is a stable permeant role working in a relaxed but professional office environment of 4 other people.
Your new role
As Qs Estimator you will submit monthly client valuations, ensure payments are made, measure/remeasure works on site, agree valuations when needed, create monthly cvr reports, be the main client lialson for your schemes and close out the final accounts at the end of the projects. Being a small team you will also oversee the procurement function and work with clients on negotiated tenders to price new works for the business. Reporting to the Company owner and Construction director. This is an office based role with regular site visits as needed, working form home for a day or so a week is a possibility
What you'll need to succeed
You will be an experienced Quantity surveyor with a background in small to medium construction or refurbishment works, you will be it literate, comfortable working on your own initiative and be looking for a stand-alone long term role with a local Kent based contractor. Estimating or pricing experience is highly desirable
