Finance Assistant

Woking, Office Based (after 3 months full training, hybrid working offered)

Monday - Friday 08:30AM - 5:00PM

£28,000 - £30,000 per annum DOE

Benefits: 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, access to benefits platform, yearly summer party, centrally based office

Overview:

Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey in finance? We have an exceptional opportunity for a Finance Assistant to become a vital part of our client's dynamic Finance team. Located at their Head Office in Woking, this role offers a unique blend of office-based and remote work. During the training phase, you will be expected to work in the office for five days a week, and later transition to a flexible arrangement of three days in the office and two days from the comfort of your home.

Ideally you will have already gained 12 months experience working within a similar position who is seeking a change , this role offers an exceptional platform for growth and development. As a Finance Assistant, you'll work alongside a fantastic team at the forefront of financial excellence.

Daily Duties include:

* Reconciliation cash accounts against till reports
* Checking transactions posted to cash accounts, on the daily, weekly basis, preparing correction folder for mis posted transactions
* Requesting backup for cash allocation (statements from payment providers, card terminals- sending via emails or downloading from portals)
* Processing refunds requested by schools or parents through portals or Bacs on the daily/weekly basis
* Weekly reconciliation cash banked by G4S / Loomis
* Coding cash banked to the right school cash accounts on the daily/weekly basis,
* Monthly checking and reviewing sites cash floats recorded in the Cash Summary Report, preparing and posting journal to cash floats movement
* Monthly reviewing the till's last trading day report; preparing and posting Fees in Advance journal in Sage
* Preparing templates, providing backup, for AR department regarding invoices for manual top-ups
* Liaising issue regarding missing online top-ups and other queries with cashless providers, till providers and schools.
* Manage customer queries

Sound interesting?...you must have:

* You will have at least 12 months experience as a Finance Assistant managing account reconciliations.
* A background in working with cashless providers is essential
* An extensive working knowledge of Excel with the ability to manipulate data and create templates.
* Ideally you will have had recent exposure to Sage
* The ability to work well under pressure, and are comfortable in a very flexible, fast paced working environment.
* Have a proactive approach and the ability to work under own initiative.
* Reach targets and adhere to month end deadlines.
* Be positive in your outlook with a great can-do attitude, willing to gain new skills.
