My client, a leading Housing Association based in North Kent, is looking to recruit a Newly Qualified Accountant on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will be looking to make their First Move From Practice to join an impressive charitable organisation. The role will be a `hands-on` position that will see the right candidate quickly becoming a pivotal member of the finance team, managing the team`s relationship with budget holders, ensuring that they support and challenge operational management.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly performance reporting of the group, subsidiary companies, and budget holder levels.
- Co-ordinate the business partnering of the reporting team to allocated budget holders.
- Attend departmental management meetings.
- Integrate finance into operational work areas.
- Manage the control process to ensure the integrity of the accounting records.
- Manage the budget and reforecasting processes.
- Assist in the co-ordination, preparation and sign-off of Annual Financial Statements for all Group entities.
- Liaise with both external and internal
- Assist the Financial Controller in ensuring that financial accounting policies comply with current financial reporting standards and are adhered to in practice.
- Provide tax assistance to Financial Controller including VAT returns, tax advice and liaison with specialist tax advisers.
- Represent Finance on project teams/working parties to ensure that new activities, restructures and business improvement opportunities are correctly accounted for
The Successful Applicant
- Full professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
- A thorough and detailed knowledge of current financial reporting standards
- Experience in working in management and financial accounting functions
- Strong technical knowledge of current financial reporting standards and that are relevant to the sector (SORP, FRS)
- Knowledge of Corporation tax and VAT regulations
