Tenancy Support Officer
Sevenoaks
Monday - Friday
£12.27 per hour
Must be able to drive
ASAP

Purpose of job - Supporting tenants to achieve independence and sustain successful tenancies.

Responsibilities

* Support vulnerable customers to live independently helping them to find the right home; understand their responsibilities as tenants and sustain their tenancy. This includes:

* undertaking assessments and arranging for minor adaptations
* providing a resettlement service
* advising and supporting clients to maximise their income
* supporting clients to seek specialist advice and help where needed.

* Help customers to understand their responsibilities as tenants and how to sustain their tenancy.
* Achieve positive outcomes for customers by collaborating with key stakeholders and partner agencies.
* Achieve positive outcomes in the management of empty homes, arrears and community safety through collaboration with colleagues.

* Achieve positive outcomes for a diverse range of vulnerable customers by ensuring their care and support needs are met.

* Follow safe working practices to keep yourself and others safe.

* Continuously look to improve the service and ensure that all paperwork and record keeping is accurate and up to date.
* Undertake other duties that are relevant to the job.

Knowledge, skills and experience

* Knowledge of welfare benefits, budgeting and risk assessments in relation to housing management and allocations.
* Experience of delivering a positive customer focussed service.
* Proven communication, interpersonal and written skills adaptable to all audiences.
* Proven track record of being solution focused, organised and confident in Microsoft packages and learning bespoke customer record management systems.
* Experience of achieving positive outcomes of at least two of the client groups listed:

* frail elderly
* mental health
* learning disability
* physical disability
* victim of domestic abuse
* ex-offender
* drug or alcohol dependant.

* Determined and persistent to achieve positive outcomes in challenging circumstances.
* Good understanding of safeguarding procedures.
* Self motivated to work independently and with the ability to self manage own learning.
* Proven ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to maintain positive and productive relationships with colleagues, customers and stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes.
* Experience of applying equality and diversity principles in all situations and tailoring services according to need.
