Business Development Manager
As the Business Development Manager you will collaborate with the Head of Innovation and Growth to retain contracts and secure new opportunities. Craft impactful tenders showcasing the organisation's positive impact on individuals in the criminal justice system. Merge expertise with local data for compelling responses meeting commissioner and user needs..
Role responsibilities
* Effectively managing the pipeline of upcoming opportunities, this will include, planning, development & writing of tender responses across a range of subject areas/ service types.
* Proven experience in line managing, supporting, developing and training a business development lead, as well as efficiently working highly collaboratively with multiple teams internally and externally, this will include the heads of departments and stakeholders.
* Appropriate allocation and effective coordination of writers and contributors on specific tenders/responses.
* Provide at all times relevant feedback on all written work through quality assurance, as well as being comfortable in providing positive and constructive feedback.
Essential requirements
* Proven business development skills, including tender writing, service design, budgeting, new product development, and strategic partnerships. Excellent project management and organizational abilities, with expertise in tender and pipeline planning.
* Good understanding of the charity sector and in particular the barriers faced by people with a history of offending and or substance misuse and the challenges gaining work
* Able to work effectively in a high-pressure environment and respond proactively and positively to challenges (e.g. tight externally set deadlines).
* Proven experience or a working knowledge of Criminal Justice and working with marginalised groups.
* Strong negotiation skills with the ability to react quickly to change.
