A well-respected main contractor seeks an experienced Buyer to work in the Bromley-based Head office on a permanent basis. Specialising in both internal and external refurbishment projects are typically in the £1 - 2 mill region in the high end/prestigious private sector markets. With a newly refurbished office, stable commercial and ops team and a growing order book this is a newly created role and part of an ongoing steady expansion.

Your new role
As the sole Buyer you will oversee all procurement of materials and subcontractors working closely with the site management and surveying teams to streamline the current processes and ensure best value from suppliers. You will help build relationships with suppliers, ensure materials are ordered with lead in times factored in, source alternatives where appropriate and assist the surveying team in placing subcontract orders.

What you\'ll need to succeed
You will have worked as a buyer within a construction company previously and ideally have strong refurbishment experience and knowledge of the various materials required. Existing relationships with local builders merchants would be an advantage. Good i.t skills are essential, as are strong communication skills as the role is a liaison between multiple departments,
