Overview
As an Assistant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in supporting financial operations within our organisation. Your responsibilities will span from day-to-day bookkeeping tasks to assisting with financial reporting and compliance. We seek a candidate who is AAT qualified at a level 3 or above, with aspirations of pursuing ACCA or CIMA qualifications, or someone who is already part-qualified. This role will also provide you with full study support. Previous experience within the professional service industry is essential.
Your new role
Financial Data Management:
* Assist in data entry, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
* Maintain financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
* Reconcile bank statements and other financial transactions.
Month-End and Year-End Activities:
* Participate in month-end closing procedures.
* Prepare journal entries and adjustments.
* Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial statements.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
* Collaborate with the finance team to create and monitor budgets.
* Analyse financial data to provide insights for decision-making.
Payroll Processing:
* Manage payroll processes, including calculations, deductions, and tax compliance.
* Ensure accurate and timely salary payments.
Compliance and Reporting:
* Assist in VAT returns and tax computations.
* Prepare regulatory financial reports.
* Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Financial Analysis:
* Support financial planning by analysing trends, costs, and revenues.
* Identify areas for improvement and cost-saving opportunities.
Communication and Collaboration:
* Liaise with internal teams, clients, and suppliers regarding financial matters.
* Provide financial information and respond to queries.
What you\'ll need to succeed
* AAT Qualified: Possess a recognised AAT qualification at level 2 or above.
* Progressive Mindset: Willingness to pursue ACCA or CIMA qualifications or already part-qualified.
* Attention to Detail: Accuracy in financial data entry and reporting.
* Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret financial information.
* Software Proficiency: Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
