We are seeking to appoint an inspiring, committed and highly-skilled self-employed Piano / Organ* Visiting Music Teacher (VMT) from early September 2024. The role will involve teaching mainly in the Senior School, but it is hoped that there will be opportunities to expand into the Junior School in time.

**Whilst the post covers both Piano and Organ, we will consider separating the Organ component to a second post, so applications for this component are also encouraged.

The successful candidate(s) will be an outstanding teacher with a passion for inspiring our musicians to perform to the highest possible standard as well as being an active performer in their own right. They will join our excellent team of thirteen VMTs operating within our first-class Junior and Senior School Music Departments. Altogether, over 120 VMT lessons are taught each week across the school.

Visiting Music Teachers are recruited by our Directors of Music from both the Junior School and Senior school. VMTs are responsible to the respective Director of Music in all matters relating to performance, ensembles, recruitment and pupil progress and the day-to-day management of their timetables.

Visiting Music Teachers are self-employed and invoice parents directly each term.
The rate is currently set at £43.00 per hour, but this will be subject to review for the 2024-25 Academic Year. Visiting Music Teachers are expected to communicate with parents to arrange lessons, organise payment and report on progress, (avoiding core subjects in the JS where possible), when timetabling. They are also required to submit timetables in advance of teaching to the music administrator.

Application Forms and Job Description for this role are available on our website www.slcuk.com and should be sent via email to the HR Manager at hr@slcuk.com

Closing date: Sunday 02 June 2024.

Applicants will be required to undergo Child Protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service
