Background of department/role
The Department is responsible for developing and maintaining the University estate and facilities services.
The Front of House team have an integral role as being first point of contact and providing a positive and professional first impression to our visitors, students and our staff.
The Role
An excellent opportunity to join our Front of House team within Estates and Facilities. The Front of House Reception team provides a positive and professional first impression to our visitors, students and our staff. This is an engaging role building relationships with various departments across the University to be able to provide up to date information to visitors, students and staff to our university.
The role would suit someone who has confident communication skills and has a welcoming approach. Able to remain calm under pressure and know when to escalate to colleagues, line managers to seek further advice.
As a Front of House receptionist, you will work as part of a team and rotate between locations at Canterbury with an agreed rota to cover the reception desks and switchboard. We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, confident and presentable. Attention to details written and communication.
You will have GCSE A-C English and Mathematics (or equivalent standard) with experience in a customer service background.
Desirable requirements: NVQ or other equivalent in customer services techniques would also be advantageous.
A uniform will be provided however, the successful candidate will be expected to be presentable and professional at all times.
How will you work?
We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is part-time Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. We can consider flexibility with lunches and the working pattern. The role in on site (no hybrid working).
(Monday 8.30-14.00, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30-17.00)
