The Department

The UK Partnerships and Apprenticeships Unit (UKPAU) is located within the Directorate of the Senior Pro Vice-Chancellor for Research, Enterprise, and Business Development and is currently comprised of 32 members of staff. The Unit provides leadership, support and advice for UK partnerships and apprenticeships provision and has oversight of the administration of our academic partnerships. Furthermore, it owns the process of UK partnerships and apprenticeships onboarding, development and delivery and supports the development and delivery of the University’s Partnerships Strategy.

We currently have students studying our franchised or validated courses with 15 UK partner institutions, 2 of which are consortia made up of multiple Further Education (FE) colleges, and 6 of which are commercial colleges. There are nearly 800 apprenticeship learners studying at CCCU on 9 different apprenticeship courses in Health and Science and Business and Administration routes, with over 90 local employers where the University is the main training provider.

It is an exciting time to be working with academic partners and we are now looking to recruit a Partner Manager to join our academic partnerships team.

The primary role of the of the postholder would be to be responsible for effective operational management of named UK academic partners, from the point at which new partners are taken through the approval process, to acting as first point of contact for these partners in all aspects of non-academic service delivery.

The postholder would additionally liaise with the University’s internal academic and professional services departments to ensure effective running of the UK academic partnerships and would support the Head of UK Partnerships, to ensure the entire partner management process follows the University’s Quality Assurance guidance and other academic requirements, spelled out in the collaborative contract (Memorandum of Agreement).

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and influencing skills to facilitate and support the successful management of our academic partners.

Attention to detail and an ability to prioritise work and meet fast changing deadlines is key in role. We would like someone who is comfortable working independently and would communicate with confidence and professionalism with partner staff who hold senior posts.
The postholder would work with our other Partner Mangers, our Relationship Progression Mangers and our Head of UK Partnerships, to establish and maintain positive relationships with our partners. Due to the specialised nature of the role we need someone who has previously held a management role in higher education and has experience of managing aspects of UK collaborative partnerships

Flexible Working

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible. Campus attendance will vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders. It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus, but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken
