Wellbeing Practitioner
Ashford School is a dynamic, thriving co-educational day and boarding school. Pupils range from 3 months to 18 years.
We are looking to recruit a self-motivated, forward-thinking individual who will be an important part of our pastoral team who has a genuine interest in supporting and helping young people. The role of the ‘Wellbeing Practitioner’ will be part time, requiring 1 day per week, primarily based at the Senior School but with the flexibility to work across both school sites (Prep School and Senior School). Wellbeing is central to all that we do in school as we recognise that happy contented children thrive. We want the successful candidate to help develop this role within the School on both sites, working closely with the Wellbeing Manager and our Health Centre team too.
The successful applicant will be a qualified counsellor and will also hold a diploma (level 4 as a minimum) and be BACP accredited. The role will be varied but the successful candidate will be expected to work directly with children on a 1-2-1 basis and closely with the Health Centre team.
The successful candidate will have previous experience of working with young people from 5-18 years with a variety of emotional difficulties. They will have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work well within a team as well as independently. A flexible approach to workload is essential, as well as being adaptable to change. The ability to write accurate reports and use a range of communication techniques skillfully is also essential.
A knowledge of safeguarding and child protection is essential to this role.
Candidates must also hold a full UK driver’s license and be prepared to work across both school sites.
Note - We reserve the right to interview and offer to a strong candidate prior to the closing date. It is strongly recommended that candidates submit their applications as soon as possible.
Ashford School is part of United Learning, a large and growing group of schools aiming to offer a life-changing education across England. As a group, we achieve more by sharing than any single school could.
Ashford School is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applications from all suitably qualified candidates.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expect all staff to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS check is required for all successful applicants.
