Fundraising & Development Manager
(Part-Time, Contract)

Help shape the future of Ramsgate
Heritage Lab Ramsgate is growing – and we’re looking for a strategic, proactive Fundraising & Development Manager to join us at a pivotal moment.

We’re working to bring historic buildings and community assets back into meaningful use – supporting jobs, creativity and long-term regeneration across Ramsgate. We’ve taken our first major step with Ramsgate

Works at the Old Wine Warehouse, and we’re now developing a wider pipeline of projects across the town and growing partnerships with local organisations.

With new investment and support from partners including Historic England, we’re entering a new phase – focused on strengthening partnerships, unlocking new funding, and building the financial foundations needed to take our work to the next level.

About the Role
This is a hands-on, strategic role at the centre of our future growth.

You’ll lead the development and delivery of our fundraising and development approach – working with the CEO, Board and partners to secure the resources needed to deliver a growing programme of heritage-led regeneration.

The role spans grant funding, philanthropy and wider income development – helping to build a strong and sustainable funding pipeline that supports both current projects and future ambitions.

We are ideally looking for one person who can cover the full breadth of the role. However, we are open to splitting the role between:
• grant funding and programme development, and
• high net worth/philanthropic fundraising depending on experience and interest.

What You’ll Be Doing
• Developing and delivering a clear fundraising and development strategy
• Building and managing a pipeline of grant opportunities across a range of funders, including Historic England and the National Lottery Heritage Fund
• Writing and submitting high-quality funding applications and managing funder relationships
• Working with the CEO and Board to develop and deliver an approach to high-net-worth individuals, philanthropy and legacy giving
• Developing compelling case for support materials, grant copy and fundraising messaging
• Supporting the development of investment and partnership opportunities linked to regeneration projects
• Monitoring fundraising performance and supporting reporting to funders
• Contributing to communications, campaigns and donor engagement activity

About You
• Strong connection to Ramsgate/Thanet (or a genuine desire to build one)
• An excellent communicator – confident, persuasive and able to engage a wide range of audiences
• Experience in fundraising, grant writing or income generation, with a strong track record of securing funding
• Experience of working with grant funders and/or high net worth individuals or institutions
• Strategic thinker with the ability to turn ideas into deliverable plans
• Organised, proactive and able to work independently
• Interested in heritage, regeneration and community-led change
• Enjoy working as part of a collaborative, purpose-driven team

Why Join Us?
This is a chance to be at the centre of something growing – helping unlock the funding and partnerships needed to turn ideas into real projects.

You’ll be part of a small, ambitious team working at the intersection of heritage, community and regeneration, with the opportunity to shape how projects are funded and delivered.

It’s a role where you can make a tangible difference – supporting new activity, building long-term sustainability, and helping to shape the future of heritage-led regeneration in Ramsgate.

Key Details
• Part-time contract (approx. 2.5 days per week) for 46 weeks
• £17,500 rising to £18,200 in year 2* and £18,900 in year 3* [*subject to funding confirmation]
• Freelance/self-employed basis
• Based at Ramsgate Works (min. 1 day per week) and/or home, with some local travel
