My client, an established charitable organisation, is looking to recruit a Head of Finance to join them as they continue to develop and support their local community. This is a fantastic opportunity for a Qualified Accountant (ACA/ ACCA/ CIMA/ CIPFA) with previous Housing experience, Rent Charges, Services Charges or Charity experience.
Main Responsibilities
- To lead, manage and motivate the Finance team.
- Lead on Management accounts and present to the Board.
- Production of annual Statutory Financial statements.
- Lead on Budget process.
- Ensure that effective financial systems/procedures are in place and adhered to.
- Be an active member of the SMT.
Duties
- Ensure monthly management accounts are prepared within the required timeframe, including analysis of variances, and reporting for the Senior Management Team/ Executive Team to review.
- Responsible for the production and distribution of the quarterly scheme reports for the Senior Management review, identifying underperforming schemes for management action.
- Ensure that regular budget holder reports are circulated and to ensure the quarterly meeting with the respective managers are held.
- Lead on the annual Budget setting process, providing necessary guidance to the budget holders and co-ordinate the budgets to produce organisation wide budget on a timely manner for Senior Management Review.
- Responsible for the production of the rental income budget. Oversee the service charge budget prepared by the Financial Accountant.
- Provide training and support for the front-line staff and managers help them manage their budgets in a cost-effective manner and assist managers with the operation and control of their delegated budgets.
- Oversee the effective administration of tasks undertaken by the finance team, e.g., insurance, Council Tax, contract control, vehicles, equipment leases etc.
